Job Title: Information Technology HBCU Fellow

Summary:

We are looking for an HBCU Fellow to:

  1. Remedy user technology issues.
  2. Help drive user adoption of technology systems/applications
  3. Complete ad hoc tasks supporting user systems, e.g. add RAM to an existing computer.

The performance of these responsibilities will result in a higher level of efficiency for the Bucks user community.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  •  
  • Provide support to Bucks staff for technology related issues
  • As needed, call out issues to internal domain experts and/or third-party support personnel while continually communicating status to affected users and superiors.
  • Maintain technical proficiency on all Bucks end-user computing platforms: personal computers and laptops, Windows 10, MAC OS, Microsoft Office 365, accounting applications, CRM applications, and other applications as needed.
  • Perform formal and ad hoc training to departments and individuals to insure high levels or user adoption and user productivity.
  • Log new calls, updates, and status changes in Help Desk Solar Winds Portal
  • Manage and updates documentation of standard procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assist with hardware and software installations

 

Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate HBCLJ student, internship experience a plus!
  • Excellent general digital literacy skills in supporting users on Microsoft Office products including the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system.
  • Experience with desktop support.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio for documentation.
  • Ability to work wall with people in a support and training role.
  • Understanding of computer networking concepts.
  • Ability to explain basic concepts or procedures in a clear, concise, easy-to­ understand manner for a large and diverse user base who use a wide variety of off-the-shelf applications.
  • Possess high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability for area of responsibility and related results.
  • Minimum physical requirements: able to gain access to small areas for equipment setup and tear-down; able to lift and transport up to 30 pounds.
  • Display professional image and demeanor.
  • Ability to travel to branch sites Milwaukee and Oshkosh.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
  • Positive self-starter with a good work ethic, ability to meet deadlines, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and good attention to detail.
