Description

Job Title: HBCU Fellow - Digital Media, Global Partnerships & Media, NextGen Team

Summary:

The intern will play an integral role within our team, aiding the development of a data & customer/fan-driven approach to implementing growth-orientated programs supporting our league-wide goals. The success of these programs requires significant collaboration across many NBA departments of varying functions, & we look for candidates with specific post-graduate experience.

The ideal PG candidate will have experience or exposure to commercial/business strategy in digital media with a preference for audience growth and PM experience. A significant portion of working on partnership strategies and deals is the operationalization of those partnerships. Post-grad candidates with project or PM experience or exposure to these functions is ideal

Skills:

  • Familiarity with DEI concepts and strategies
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills required.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills

Responsibilities:

  • Assist group in developing strategic partnerships with existing and prospective NBA partners
  • Participate in daily meetings and calls with members of the NG Strategic Partnerships team and cross-function team members from other groups within the NBA
  • Define and track partner success and aggregate data for analysis
  • Leverage aggregated data to identify modifications that may be necessary for optimizing existing & future partner programs
  • Help ideate strategic opportunities leveraging the XFN institutional knowledge gained during the program
  • Support individual partner programs with research & insights into what other best-in-class digital companies are doing (e.g., marketplaces, distribution strategies etc.)
  • Own select internal project management components, including weekly trackers and status calls, with ability to update meetings

Requirements:

  • Have experience working in Digital Media; subscription business experience is a +
  • Must be able to develop basic spreadsheets related to the execution of commercial strategy & models
  • Experience and comfort level producing PowerPoint or Keynote slides
  • Ability to conduct independent, online research in support of partner program development & ability to work independently

To participate in the HBCU Fellowship Program, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including having received a booster when eligible.
